2009 MonksGate Rosé is our first foray into the world of Rosé and we are very pleased with the results! We processed a single Pinot Noir clone, 115, and then added back in just a hint of our finished 667 Pinot Noir.
The wine is beautifully crisp yet tantalizes with hints of the traditional Pinot Noir profile. Serve well or just slightly chilled and enjoy with a wide range of summer fare from salads to pastas, even our favorite spicy sausage, artichoke and blue cheese pizza!
Roses are a drink now style wine but will easily hold through summer 2011.
2008 MonksGate Pinot Noir is classic pinot noir displaying aromas of tamarind, dark tobacco, earth and spice.
The 2008 estate grown MonksGate showcases wild raspberry and black cherry fruit; a firm acid backbone and long lingering finish making it an excellent representation of the 2008 vintage in Oregon.
Our 2008 is often referred to as the iron fist in the velvet glove and is already very approachable. This wine will continue to develop over the next 5 to 6 years.
Beautiful deep garnet color. Nose shows all spectrum of berries evolving to luscious red cherries. The floral overlay of rose petals adds to the wines subtle complexity. Great freshness of fruit when you take your first sip, evolving toward round, soft tannins.
The overall ensemble is polished and ready to enjoy but will progress over the next 5 to 8 years.
Bright raspberry color with a graceful mix of red bramble fruit (raspberry and strawberry) as well as red cherry with soft musky and leather attributes. Mouthfeel is round and opulent with a sweet core of fruit.
Drink now or over the next 1 to 2 years; this continues to be a bright, goes with anything, drinkable Pinot!
