The Pinot Noir Brownies are baking!

...and MonksGate Vineyard is ready to welcome you Valentine’s Day Weekend — we will again send case purchasers away with a dozen full size brownies so let us be your Valentine!

If you can’t join us but would like to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a MonksGate Pinot, just give us a call and we will get the wine on its way to you — Mother Nature permitting (e.g., above freezing for ground shipping)!

If you want to make it a special weekend, check out the Bed & Breakfasts of Yamhill County and, in particular the absolutely gorgeous Black Walnut Inn info@blackwalnut-inn.com — they usually require a two night minimum but are willing to waive that minimum for this weekend! It is a beautiful place, Karen and Neal are great people and they are releasing their second vintage (the 2008) Pinot noir on Sunday, February 13th. If we can help you with your plans, feel free to give us a call at 503.852.6521 and we look forward to seeing or hearing from you!

Crowning a hillside in the Willamette Valley Pinot Noir region are the vineyards of Monks Gate. Trappist Monks from the nearby Abbey had long trod a path among the blackberry bushes and scrub oak that once covered the Willakenzie soil. Grapevines now soak up the summer sun by day and are cooled by the coastal influence at night. In developing the vineyard a gate was erected to encourage the monks to continue to enrich the landscape with their travels as the terroir enriches our wines. After experiencing the balanced fruit, rich garnet color and lingering finish of Monks Gate Pinot Noir, we hope you feel similarly enriched.
